I want to eventually end up in The Championship and then the Premier League, but I thought it'd be fun to start really low. It'll give me a chance to learn more about the Irish and Scottish leagues too, so that'll be fun.

I tied 1-1 in my first two preseason tournament games, and I lost 3-0 in the last one. That didn't go well, but I did start the regular season with a 2-1 win over Finn Harps. So I'm 1-0 and things are looking up! Haha
Don't get your hopes up when it comes to receiving the offers from clubs or competitions you want, as fifa's just damn unreliable when it comes to that, so that it might never, throughout all the years, offer you an even remotely satisfying job. if it ever even'll offer you a decent job.

Thanks for the heads up! This is the first FIFA I've gotten in a long time, so it's also my first venture into CM in quite some time as well. It'll be interesting to see what becomes available, if anything! I'll keep everyone updated for sure.

Left Rayo 2nd place, 10 points clear of Levante with about 17 games to. Joined first place Porto with about 10 games to go or so, won the league title. Lost the semi finals of the league cup. Got the job at Real Madrid..

They finished 4th. Villarreal won the title. I'm about to play Atletic Club in the Copa Del Rey final, first game. Then the summer transfer window begins.

Going to sell Ronaldo, Benzema & Modric.

Modric only because his age makes him the most expendable, on a team with the most stacked midfield in the world. Rodriguez, Isco, Kroos, Casemiro, Kovacic, Herrera, Asensio.

Going to sign Hazard. Strikers we will look into Griezmann, Lewy, Aguero, Aubameyang

Re: How's your FIFA career mode going?

Just started my 4th season with Brentford in the Championship.

A relatively frustrating but also stable first 3 seasons. Finished 9th, 9th and 7th respectively. Painful to only miss out on the play-offs by 2 points last season, but considering we have one of the smallest budgets in the division, things could definitely be worse.

I've made some important signings this summer and I'm hoping this will finally be the year we push on and reach the play-offs, or even maybe the automatic places? Opened the season with two 2-0 wins, a 0-0 draw and a 1-1 draw, so off to a decent start. Got knocked out in extra time in the second round of the League Cup, but I suppose it's perhaps a blessing not to have that distraction any more.

Primarily I'm keeping things realistic, so only making the kinds of transfers Brentford would be able to pull off in real-life (essentially mostly from lower league clubs). I'm also keeping our ethos of being a 'selling club for the right price', so if I get decent offers for any of my players, I accept. I also place a lot of importance on youth and I currently have a few players from my academy loaned out in the hope of getting them ready to integrate with my first team squad within the next few seasons. Current squad is as follows:

GK - Bentley
RB - Colin
CB - Dean
CB - Lockyer
LB - Henry
CDM - Woods
CM - McEachran
RM - Burns
CAM - Jota
LM - MacLeod
ST - Buess

Subs: Collins (GK), Hanson (RB), Høibråten (CB), Gilbey (CM), Sawyers (CAM), Canos (RM), Roberts (ST)

Got a fair few up and coming younger players in my reserves too who I occasionally rotate depending on injury, notable players including: Osadebe (CM), Spittal (LM), Mahoney (RM), Tetteh (ST)

Transfer deadline day is next before we play Ipswich on September 1st. I'm pretty happy with my squad depth so I'm not expecting any more ins, but I'll accept a few more loan offers for some of my younger players if the right clubs come asking. Kaiserslautern have recently been showing interest in McEachran, but if they aren't willing to meet my valuation of £5m then he'll be going nowhere.

Re: How's your FIFA career mode going?

Mid-way through season 3 of Ajax CM, won the Eredivisie (twice), Oranje Beker twice and this is my third attempt to win the Champions League.

I set a target of 3 seasons so it's now or never!

Re: How's your FIFA career mode going?

I have had successful campaigns (i.e. league, league cup, Euro league, Champions cup) with:
- Ajax - 2 seasons - won everything. Young squad (most <22) to fit their philosophy
- PSG - 2 seasons - when I moved from Ajax to get some "real" virtual money - delivered the CL as requested
- AC Milan - new campaign, 3 seasons in I abandoned it after again winning everything

I abandon the game after 3/4 in 4th season EVERY time for the same reason. The incredibly stupid game programming that let's Manchester United buy up all the elite strikers in the world, so that they can warm the bench at ol trafford. How unbelievable and unbelievably dumn???!!!
Every time Griessmann, Lebandowski, Dybala, etc.

No way clubs like Bayern and Juventus would sell their top striking weapon
No way elite strikers will be happy to sit on bench, no matter the club. And this is no Barca or Real any way.
No way ManU has that kind of money year after year.

It sickens me....

I am now taking Werder Bremen on the road to glory, but will probably do the same in the 3rd year, once that Dybala debacle starts (always the 3rd year).

And also, I NEVER get the Netherlands international manager, even though my Ajax/PSG/AC Milan teams all went 200:0 wins v losses.

Thanks EA

Re: How's your FIFA career mode going?

Just bought FIFA17 and started my manager career with Al Ahli. I love it. I'm blown away with the depth of the mode. Wishing it was in a certain American football game. The training aspect is fun as hell and the transfer window ticker is great as well. I think the main thing for me is having emails come in from various organizations and people really make me feel like I'm in the game.

Can't wait to get home so I can fire it up again!

Re: How's your FIFA career mode going?

Do you actually get offers from other teams if doing good job at lower league? or you have to go available jobs only?
