Canada to world cup?

Few years into my manager career and I have won alot of friendlies as Canada. I have yet to play any qualifying matches so how does one get a team like Canada into the World Cup? Thanks in advance

If your international team is Canada and its a World Cup year, all you have to do is save the game on April 30, sim to May 1 (when the groups get "announced") and check to see if Canada "qualified" for the World Cup. If the USA and Mexico qualified instead of Canada, then just exit career mode which will take yo back to April 30, and repeat until Canada makes the World Cup.

It is kind of annoying that the CONCACAF teams don't have a qualifying tournament though.

I never even thought of this! I do the save and back out feature when trying to find good scouts 😂 thank you for the idea! Too bad I just missed my opportunity as I just passed that date in my career. Oh well will try for next one. Thanks again!

Sorry to revive thread but I am in mid May 2017 in my career with Canada and just noticed in News that teams have released rosters for Confederation Cup. I don't see Canada anywhere. Does this mean I have not qualified for the World Cup for 2018? Or can I still wait until April 2018 and do the save and back out thing until Canada gets randomly chosen? Hope my question makes sense lol. Thanks

Not a big football/soccer guy so don't know much about qualifying etc but I figured Confederation Cup was a pretournament to World Cup with the same teams. Hope I'm wrong lol
