That's what makes sense from a business side. Epic Games is doing the same shi* on PC.
I think it's more of just making "making the PC version for the lowest common denominator" as in lower specs = more folks having access to it = more $/£

...wouldn't that be 'mobile Fifa'?! And tbh, it's the first time i hear this on PC, why they too get a PS4 oldgen version.... mostly the excuses from the developers are -> the consoles are limiting the PC.

But in the end, it doesn't really matter what is true and what not, it doesn't change anything for PC-users.

I would think lowest common denominator would = low end PC specs...something relating to graphics cards, processors, etc...

It sucks but not as much as the PC missing out on features like HyperMotion which can't be added by modders.

let's say, it's the truth, what EA reasoned for PC, now they have the anger of most of the PC users on their side, or not?! So, to whom exactly do they want to sell their game on PC now, declaring all PC users, they just get a "sidegrade", not an "upgrade"?! I didn't hear one guy, saying it's cool he can play on his old laptop fifa22, where he could easily play fifa21 aswell. U get the point?! There is no benefit for anyone, except the the console-players/Sony/Microsoft.

True, you can't add 4000 animations to the game with some modding. But it's not just 4000 animations, it's a lot lot more what console players get extra. It's almost like a different game(play).

Hey KG, would be nice if they released next gen on pc though and if your pc couldn't handle it then upgrade your pc.
I'm pretty filthy about this as 2 years ago I splashed out $4500 on a custom built pc just so I could mod pes and Fifa.

Yeah PC should have both versions released like Series X did with 21. If your PC can only handle standard then that’s what you buy if you have a powerful PC you buy Series X version of Fifa 22. Surly it can’t be that hard, Series X is a type of windows like a PC runs!!!!

On the attacking front, your passing game is transformed from having to watch all opponent players and pick your passes carefully, to just avoiding the one player who is allowed to defend/intercept.

This is probably worse for the game than having to constantly player switch. A bad pass should not work, no matter if it's intercepted by a human or an AI player. It was a bad pass to begin with.

So, it's something that makes defending sweaty & monotonous and attacking much more trivial and less enjoyable. If everyone enjoys attacking football as much as they say they are, then shouldn't the skill gap be in attacking and in creating the space and wouldn't that be much more enjoyable? I think it's all a bit backwards... Yay, let's make a football game with a focus on player switching and let's make attacking and scoring goals trivial and joyless! Sounds fun.
One of the better summaries I've seen posted in a long time RE: Competitive vs. Sim players. I completely agree with your take. By removing the AI defensive abilities, they've actually lessened the skill gap. Micro-managing your off ball defenders is not a "skill", or at least should not be considered one in the competitive arena.

I get they wanted to try and broaden their comp skill gap with these changes in 20, but for me it completely ruined the series. I'm not asking for the AI to track, dispossess, and then make a pass for me. I'm just asking that I DON'T have to switch between 6 players in 8 seconds to move them into a realistic defensive position. Its asinine what they've done to the midfield in this series.
