well I believe that it's been stated by Rutter as well as some other people involved with FIFA that they simply don't know how to fix match-to-match fatigue and lineups without screwing up a bunch of other stuff.

Personally I'm a little glad they're being up front and honest about it because that signals to me they're willing to spend more time into fixing the issue than just patching it. I doubt that would be able to fix the issue and patch it in a timely manner so that they're willing to try to completely fix it for 2010 rather than put out a half assed patch is a good sign, to me at least.

Well the fatigue thing is absolutely pathetic.

We're in the year 2008, how many games have been developed at this point (all sports, not just footy) that have been able to implement fatigue/lineup rotations?

Well come to think of it, no EA game ever handles this correctly, so this isn't at all shocking. Still pathetic, but not shocking.

I do like how they're being up front about it. With most other EA games, the response to something not being in is usually "we're looking at that for next year" or some other ridiculous answer. So, I would much rather have them be upfront about it, like they have been, and not treat the community like morons, so they've taken a step in the right direction there.

Re: UPDATE: OS FIFA 09 Q&A

After all of the previews, reviews, betas, and demos, I honestly feel that 09 will be much better than 08. Considering that I played 08 more than any other video game I've owned, how can I not be excited for 09?

Will MM be where we want it to be? No, and far from it but, at least it was playable without silly freezes and other nonsense that plagues other titles. The simple fact that each team will play according to their individual team tactics tells me that MM will be improved at least a little. The fatigue part sucks, I know but, maybe we'll get that fixed for next year.

That is pretty much how I feel.

Question to anyone that might know? Will there be more significant injuries this year? Last year players would get dinged during a match, and be ready to go by the next match. Wonder if that has changed to be more random?

Could you imagine that in an online match though? No one would ever be able to play more than a few minutes with Ronaldo or Messi or Gerrard because they'd be fouled and seriously injured every time they touched the ball. Maybe it would only be for offline play?

Ha, my bad I meant for Manager Mode. Yes, for online it would suck to be sure if it happened often and how you described.
