FIFA Manager 10 problem - mouse disappears in game startup

Since I have tried and failed multiple times to find out any solutions to this on the FM10 message board, I appeal to you here; I have an HP Touch Smart 526PC, w/1680x1050 display, Windows 7, NVIDIA GeForce 9300 with all drivers updated 400GB hard drive, 4GB RAM. The game (which includes update 2) starts up all right, but the mouse disappears in the main FM10 screen. I've reinstalled the game 4 times, ran it as an administrator, and the same result happens. I'm beginning to feel I wasted $35 on a crap game. Any solutions would be most appreciated.

7 May be your problem not for sure though, if you have another computer (not Win7) you can try it on that.
