Fifa 10 - Server disconnections

Does anyone else think that when you get disconnected from the EA servers in an online match, you should be able to re-establish the connection then resume the match.

In Fifa 10 if you get disconnected it says "The connection with your opponent has been lost" then you have to press the Quit button then it takes you back to the Arena. Your then given a loss regardless of what the score was in the match.

With this, when you get disconnected it would come up with the same message but it would give you 2 choices. "Re-connect" or "Quit". You would have 10 seconds to select one of the options. This would be more than enough time, this time limit would ensure that your opponent at the other end doesn't have to wait to long.

Once you've selected "Re-connect", it will sign you back into the EA servers then take you to the pause menu then the match can then be resumed.

Obviously there will sometimes be moments in which people can't sign back into the servers for some reason but the majority of the time, this shouldn't be a problem and a successful connection will be established.

Some people may say disconnections happen rarely or when they happen they even themselves out but this isn't necessarily true especially with all the d/c's happening recently after the 1.03 patch. If your on a long winning streak, it's very annoying being disconnected and given an undue loss on your stats
