Can't Score!

I picked up FIFA this year after not playing since the PS2 days. I'm enjoying the game a ton but am having difficulty getting off *any* quality shots and scoring goals. I've got no problems on defense. I tried a lower difficulty setting but found I was dominating on both ends and the AI couldn't give me a competitive game. My issue is the AI always seems to strip / deny before I can get near the box and then always have a man on me to prevent getting off a decent shot. Any tips??

Crosses from outside of the box? Try some 1-2 passes. Protect the ball by shielding it with your body by holding RT/R2 while stationary to prevent defenders from taking it.
