Which is more valuable? Really good ST or CAM?

My virtual pro is a ST. However, I've always been aggrivated by how FIFA lets you pre-stat your pro. To be quick, you have to be tiny and light but weak. I wanted this guy to be me - 6'1", 240lbs. Granted, you don't think of big guys as fast, but the handicap on speed for bigger players is ridiculous (I eventually compromised with 5'10", 192 for a speed of 83).

So, just for S&Gs, I started a new career and played a few games as the CAM.

I'm finding it much easier to keep my form rating high and CAM is a much more strategic position than ST (I'm having to help bring the ball forward, so I can't just camp near the offsides line - not to mention I'm having to learn how to tackle) yet I'm still scoring plenty of goals (mostly from headers in the box).

Which made me wonder this - if you had the choice, which is more important to your team - the CAM or ST? I'm thinking the CAM is and I need to fix-up my VP.

Interesting question.

It's a trade off between a ST who is clinical but might not get enough service versus a great CAM who can provide great service and link up play but the ST may not be good enough to fully capitalise.

One thing I love about about a quality CAM is that if needs be you can play an 8-2 system, meaning the rest of your team can stay organised and hard to break down while the creativity is left purely to the CAM and the finishing to the ST (providing your only playing one ST in the first place).

depends on who can put more balls into the goal. do you want to feed the ball and sometimes score or get fed the ball and score alot. good cam can carry an average striker and a good striker can make an average cam look good. just depends on your team's formation(s) and personnel.
