Controll Questions from a sort-of Newcomer

Hey guys, basically i haven´t played a footie game extensively in recent years.
Now i have some more free time on my hands and decided to give FIFA a shot. I really like the feel of the game, but there´s a few controll-hickups that drive me mad:

1) Even on low/high assistance on "cursor switch on air balls", When playing diagonal ball or high through balls, the targeted player just stops moving and before i have him back on track the chance is all over.

2) Even worse is this on defense, i have my defender stop in their tracks on long balls way to often. As said, this is even with some assistance. I could put it on no assistance, but then the CPU stays in position, but still never tries to clear the ball ...

3) my CPU teammates never pressure the defense. I like to play with Dortmund and naturally their style of play is geared toward this. I realize the old system was overpowered (and i´m using tactical defending), but is there a better way to get pressure than switch between defenders like mad ? The RB "cpu teammate assist" button only makes a cpu teammate move in the general vincinity.

4) How can i pick up pace with a dribble without totally giving up ball controll ? Feels like the players start very sluggish when in the vincinity of a defender.


This is all against the AI on world class.

Any ideas on how to improve theese gripes i am having ?

There are no fixes really. This is the shabby EA coding on World Class.

Well, actually in modes where you can use sliders you can raise your SPD and ACC, Hum Runs and marking to give your team a boost to correct the downgrading of your team on world class.

The reason is instead of just making the CPU tougher EA makes your team stupid.

Drop down to Pro and look how much better your team plays.

Drop down to semi pro and look how much better your teams play + look how many more players come forward like Dortmund + look how much crisper your passes are + look how much better the control feels in regard to shot and pass accuracy and responsiveness

If there is one thing I hate about FIFA it's the way they choose to make the game more difficult by crippling your team.
