Re: Authentic NCAA Basketball '10 PS3 All-Conference Sliders

man, i must really stink at this game...couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. appreciate the sliders as they seem to play well, but i play nba 2k8 all the time and it's taking me forever to get the controls down (LOL!!). I was Ohio St. and got killed by Canisius...geesh.

On a different note...what is offensive rebounding like with these sliders? I've had the sliders at 100 (offensive) and 0 (defensive) and have still seen the same non-existant offensive rebounding as last year. Yet people seem to be saying offensive rebounding is fine on default this year, makes me wonder if the sliders are backwards or something

Just to clarify, I consider a 1:4 offensive:defensive ratio realistic for this game's purpose. IRL it is closer to 1:2, but with the way this game treats offensive rebounds (CPU never kicks it out, converts most second opportunities) this kind of ratio would throw the game balance out of whack.

Re: Authentic NCAA Basketball '10 PS3 All-Conference Sliders

ianlast thanks for the clarification. Makes sense now. I read somewhere that the dribble lose ball problem was in Live as well. Apparently it had to be patched due to no sliders fixing it.

Interesting insight on the offensive/defensive rebounding.

I'm also trying to play on AC. It's the only level I've played on but I'm getting killed by equal or lesser teams as Miami. I keep it close for a while but the difference usually end up being 20 to 25 points. Against much inferior small schools I win by a couple points up to 5 points. I like AC because you really need to play defense on that level. I also need to run plays on offense. This makes the game more intense. You can't fall asleep. I just need to get better.

^ Yeah Deadly Cane, offensive rebounding has always been a real sticking point with me.

Another thing...for those who are complaining about losing the ball with contact, have you tried raising the 'hands on perimeter' or 'hands in post' slider? IIRC, this determines your handle in the respective areas of the court, and makes you less likely to turn the ball over.

Really? I assumed it was a defensive slider, but I haven't played too much EA b-ball so I have no idea what the sliders mean or should indicate in some cases outside of the obvious ones. Do you or anyone know if there is a listing somewhere describing what each one does? Thanks.

Same here. That was my assumption as well.

There isn't a listing anywhere, but I remember Live 09 had a "hands in post/perimeter" rating and the description was something along the lines of "player's ball handling in the post/on the perimeter". So I assume that's what it's for.

There's still a couple sliders I have no idea about. I assume "sink or swim effectiveness" controls the effectiveness of the up-and-under move, but I'm really not sure.

Re: Authentic NCAA Basketball '10 PS3 All-Conference Sliders

Thanks. It sucks that there is no description anywhere.

Searched the slider forum and found this bit of info from OS member K_rob11. Thanks K_rob11

Info

I had the CPU's set to like 10 & 15 and they still didn't turn it over a ton. At times I had a couple of easy steals, but most of the times I got a reach in foul. May try the settings on 0 to see what happens.
