deadlyCane's All Conference Sliders

I had some people who downloaded the rosters Guru and I have been working on and they want to know the slider set I've been using. The roster set is called BCSplus#Rerates with # being a the actual number of mid-major teams edited along with all the BCS conference teams. You can find more details on the discussion thread I started here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ter-edits.html

Assumptions:
- In real NCAA each team averages anywhere from about 14 PF per game to about 20-22ish. That is a very high number for most gamers. These sliders once you master them should get you anywhere from 10 to 16 with some games upwards of 20.

GLOBAL SETTINGS
- HALF LENGTH: 18-Minutes
-DIFFICULTY: All Conference
-GAME SPEED: 45
-SHOOTING FOUL FREQ: 67 (Minimum of 65, max of 70. Anymore than 70 and you get a lot of touch shooting fouls)
- REACH IN FOUL FREQ: 100
- CHARGE/BLOCK FOUL FREQ: 100
- AUTO SUBS: ON (optional)
- BASKET INDICATOR: ON (optional)
- FATIGUE EFFECT: 100 (this is a must)
- FREE THROW DIFFICULTY: 60
- BOUNDARY FORCE FIELD: 50
- IN AIR COLLISION FOUL FREQ: 75

USER/CPU
-STEAL ABILITY: 85/40
- INTERCEPTION ABILITY: 100/65
- SHOT BLOCK ABILITY: 35/35
- DUNK/LAY-UP ABILITY: 45/45
- OFFENSIVE REBOUND: 75/75
- DEFENSIVE REBOUND: 50/45
- FAKEOUT DISCIPLINE: 40/40
- SHORT RANGE SHOOTING: 40/30
- MEDIUM RANGE SHOOTING: 45/42
- LONG RANGE SHOOTING 50/50
- DUNK PERCENTAGE: 45/45
- LAY-UP PERCENTAGE: 45/35
- DROP STEP EFFECTIVENESS: 50/75
- SINK OR SWIM EFFECTIVENESS: 80/80
- DEFENSIVE POST STRENGTH: 100/100
- SHOT ALTER ABILITY: 75/55
- FIGHT THROUGH SCREENS: 50/50
- HANDS IN POST: 75/55
- HANDS ON PERIMETER: 55/55

Notes:
- It's important to leave the REACH-IN FOUL and the CHARGE/BLOCK FOUL sliders at 100 to get close to appropriate number and types of fouls. Doing this you'll see about 2-3 on the ball offensive fouls a game depending on your play. You'll also off the ball fouls on offensive and defense against the cpu. Kind of sweet when they get called for an illegal screen. Leaving REACH-IN at 100 means you have to be discipline with your on the ball steal attempts. If you're the type to jab at the steal button all the time you'll need to kick yourself out of that habit.

- 100 for FATIGUE is a must since fatigue is so poorly implemented in this game.

- If you're using the rosters I posted and the cpu still does not dunk often enough for your liking try increasing the dunk ability a bit.

- If you're using the rosters I posted and the cpu still does not take enough threes for your liking, try boosting its Long Range shooting slightly. I'm not really sure that will do the trick as I found adjusting the individual 3-point ratings of players is more effective. Please don't do this until you've at least tested by playing a couple games on the road against a team that starts a lot of 3-point shooters like Duke, Michigan or Villanova. There are others like Syracuse who start three but they are good ones.

- If you're too proficient at scoring, then try lowering some of the user shooting abilities.

- And of course, sliders are highly dependent on user skill levels and abilities so these may not be for you. I'll post some box scores from games using my rosters when I get a chance.

Re: deadlyCane's All Conference Sliders

I really liked these sliders. the only problem that i had was that almost everytime i got in the paint I turned the ball over. I think it might've been playing stupid lol. I was a little more careful in the second half and I didnt have as many turnovers. I use the Hoyas and Monroe is a beast on the block. thanks

Re: deadlyCane's All Conference Sliders

pretty good sliders.........I play 17 min qrts with WVU

only had one weird game against Pitt where they only shot %29 at home score was like 57-49....the rest have been %36-%58

Ive been smoked by Tenn, Kansas State, and Baylor

but at the same time still beat Missouri, Georgia Tech, and Illinois

maybe a little too much scoring for the full 20 min people but im getting good scores with 17 min...and Ill just reduce time if it ever becomes a problem(Don't think it will)

good job...I don't feel cheated much at all with these

Re: deadlyCane's All Conference Sliders

Yeah guys, you can lower the minutes by 1 or two per half or better yet, drop the offensive abilities of both cpu and user a bit.

And for gmac I had the same issue when I first started playing this game. I found that if you hold off turbo you have a less chance of turning the ball over in the paint. You also don't want to be turbo blasting in the paint with a big man. Basically with big men just do your post moves, which many are a few dribbles and that's it. It kind of keeps you honest and forces you to run your offense like in real life.

I'm posting a box score of a game I played yesterday. It was using a slightly modified version of the roster file I have available online for download. This one started with Mizzou taking a huge lead on me in the first half. Then I crept back in going into the half. I took control with a run midway through the 2nd half. Once I went up about 9 or ten I started running clock with about 4 or 3:00 min to go where I would not get into my offense until about the 15-18 second mark. Mizzou scored some late points on FTs and clutch shooting to keep me from blowing them out. Here is the box score:

thanks for the tip. I will try that. I am in a tournament and I am about to play Marquette with g town. I moved from 2k just to try something different so i am in the learning stages now. I will start a dynasty after I finish the quick tournament. I am loving the game though.

Re: deadlyCane's All Conference Sliders

Oh, ok. Just trying to get some perspective. If you have the time please let me know how many 3-pointers the cpu attempts against you each game. Post the name of the cpu team when doing so. That's my biggest problem with this game: the cpu doesn't attempt anywhere near sufficient threes with the default rosters.

Thanks.
