the post below made me test the speed out etc..

I will use this as an example but if you play with game speed on 3 the speed changes depending on the game style you choose, meaning game speed of 3 on simulation is not the same as game speed of 3 on high impact.
I thought once you changed a setting it made the game style "custom" which negated the original style setting.

after 6 games, 3 games on high impact slider adjustments, 3 games on hardcore simulation slider adjustments..

the speed is different on each starting game style even though they set the same. meaning speed 3 and acceleration 4 feels different depending on which style you start adjusting your sliders with.

i wondered if it trickled down to other sliders, but i dont think so. i was able to pull off same dekes and stick handles with puck control 0 on both settings, just seems like the game speed is effected.

i mentioned the players feeling like they didnt have that getting tired feel on the high impact adjustments, turns out it just was a speed/acc thing. i adjusted speed from 3 to 1, and acc from 3 to 2, and the players had weight so to speak again.

i then looked for what i did last year on causal via high impact adjustments. same as last year to me, the players chase down and battle for lose pucks more. where you dont have to control every player to send them after the puck etc. the games on hardcore simulation adjustments i had to move guys towards the puck more etc.

seems like same stuff, different year to me. they changed the name of the settings a bit, and somehow the speed gets messed up under the hood to where its different depending on where you start editing from.

i updated the 1st post with the changes i made to speed. i also updated the hitting, one timers, etc. so take a look at everything.

per usual, feedback is wanted.

Allright,
I gotta try it out.
I've marked down all my sliders settings now.
Gonna start from High Impact iso HC Sim, and set all sliders at same values and see how it feels.

But isn't it all wierd though, just like the "Save settings" problem I talked about in another post.
Why, after all this time are there still so much settings and factors that isn't properly explained in the game? Why are there hidden values in different parts of the game, that affects the game without us really knowing why? Why do geeks like us have to set sliders and play 15 games, then reset them and play another 15 games, just to see if we notice any difference between two seemingly identical set of sliders?

Do you mean their attributes?

First of all you can change many of them individually, like shot power etc, but CPU Difficulty is one slider that gives the CPU a general boost.

Regarding the old CPU Aid:

they change to custom, but still must keep under the hood stuff we cant change.

bc when i just played on my custom high impact, it was like it didnt matter about the fatigue settings. they felt very light and fast whole time, compared to when i made adjustments to the hardcore sim etc.

im going to try just simulation now. no way i can deal with high impact (i dont think lol) and have players feel like they never tire, even though they do.
I tried it yesterday and I can confirm that two identical sets of sliders, one based off High Impact, and one based on Hardcore Sim does give you two different games.

I copied my old slider set to 100%, exactly identical, but based it off High Impact instead of Hardcore Simulation.
At first I didn't see any big difference, and wasn't sure if it was a placebo. But then I started winning faceoffs by locking up the opponents, and my cpu team mates rushed in to grab the puck every time. They do not do that on Hard core sim.

So yes. The old CPU Aid setting is indeed hidden in there in Game Style.

Re: Fiddy14's NHL 14 Sliders

yeah, there is a difference. leave it to EA to have that type of difference in speed now for some reason and not tell us.

vintage EA Sports.

just like in NCAA Football, where the penalty sliders effect gameplay, but yet they dont tell us that. hours upon hours of testing by gamers figured that out over the years. hilarious!

Re: Fiddy14's NHL 14 Sliders

Hey so this is my first NHL game since '04 and these sliders are confusing the hell out of me. I'm about to ask some really stupid questions so bare with me.
So when you say game speed at 1, is that 1 notch moved up from the original setting? 1 from the far right? Or set it to the far left and move it right 1? I tried the last option they move way too slow.

Poke effectiveness slider.. Is all the way left easy and all the way right is hard? Or is the further right you go the easier it is?

I have a lot of dumb questions like this and I can't seem to find help anywhere. Obviously you guys know what your talking about so please help me
