Spectator Mode is my guess... I'd rather have online franchises.

The fact that it's specifically 'online' makes it seem like its almost certainly Online Dynasty. However, isn't that more of a 'game mode' than a 'feature'? A feature, to me, is Skill Stick, but a Game Mode is Be A Pro or Dynasty.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was something gay like the trading card mode that FIFA and MLB 2k7 tried. Actually, now that I think about it, didn't they have some kind of card feature back in like 2001 or 2002? Though here's to it being something completely awesome.

Being a good in that scenario would be awesome, waiting on the bench for your opportunity to get on the ice and run a skill guy, take a cheap shot at one of the stars, or mix it up with a fellow goon. I can only imagine the reactions from the other human players. It would pretty much create almost the same collective emotions that one would experience in real hockey.

it sounds like the "huge mystery feature" is indeed online. However, I will repeat something I brought up in another thread that would completely revolutionize hockey games for me.

We all know the playoffs in the NHL are a war. If there was carry-over fatigue, bumps, bruises, hate, rivalry, excessive physical play, etc...from one game to another during a playoff series...that would be huge. Bring an RPG element into it. Certain players being physical with other players. Hit the opposing teams defensemen enough in Game 1...they get a little more turn-over prone or nervous with the puck in Game 2. HAMMER a certain forward a bunch of times in Game 3 and in Game 4 he's a little slower with the puck.

Nothing too drastic that would alter gameplay too much but bring something like this into the game where actions in one game impact stuff that happens in the next game would be awesome.

If the new feature is an online thing only then maybe it's

1. Online Free Skate mode/practice mode
2. Online Rivalries

3. I'd like to see an online mode where (from the team selection screen) you and your opponent are obligated to pick teams with OVERALL team ratings of under 80 or something like that. It gets annoying when you play online a lot and everyone and their mothers are one of five different teams. Go online right now and every other person is the Pens/Detroit/Calgary/MTL etc....It would be great to get more people willing to take advantage of how many teams are in the game and play people with random Euro teams and AHL teams. I know there are some of us out there that play this way but there arent many.

I'll also add that I too have played NHL 08 more than just about any other sports game I've ever had. It's AMAZING and I can't wait for 09.
