Baa had it right, 2k9 was aweful in so many areas that the few that it excells at don't really measure up to much. BAP is far from a gimmic as a game mode, its far less of a gimmic than say driving a zamboni or playoff beards.

Wow from this thread it seems like I'm the only one enjoying NHL '09. I think it's a great game, I like it a lot more with the right sliders.

It is a good game too, I just think a lot of hockey nuts. Want everything real. I don't know I like both games.

I do agree with the OP that next year's game needs to be "grittier." I really wish they'd include board pinning, as well as better defensive AI.
