Good news - videogamesplus in Canada have shipped my PS3 copy early (today Fri), so fingers crossed it wings it's way across the Atlantic over the weekend and with a bit of luck it might reach me by mid/late next week....

Now I haven't the game yet but some bad news from someone who has tried this and he hasn't seen one penalty in a cpu v cpu game. This is with the penalty slider cranked up on pro level...now it could be that some tinkering with the sliders and game level may increase penalties once I have the game.

I know Steve said there were loads in this mode so hopefully it is just something to do with the level of play or the sliders...time will tell I suppose.

I've not got the game yet so can't tweak anything (hopefully today/tomorrow)...is anybody playing cpu v cpu? If so, what are your findings regarding penalties etc?

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

If I remember correctly, last years version with the Diff set at PRO, hardly produced any penalties. I would test it again with aggression up and on at least All Star.

Oh there are definately enough penalties.. if you have that slider on half you will get more than enough trust me.. the problem is the CPU vs. CPU is an absolute bore right now.. Everyteam does the same thing: skate in on the wing, sit in the corner, pass it to the D, back again, to the D, back again, shoot, hope for a rebound.

Playing BAP as a goalie is painfully boring to watch I'm afraid..

Thanks Plaidchuck..I appreciate you taking the time to respond...good news about the penalties at least then...is that from watching a cpu v cpu game or from BAP mode?

Not sure if we can do anything about the setup play though...but at least some better news on the penalty front - thanks for that.

Re: NHL 10 - CPU v CPU, worries ahead of release

Got the game today...been tinkering with settings all night...the good news is there are penalties in cpu v cpu games..and...wait for it...I've had one fight in about 4 games - which I'm suprised, but pleased about. Also get some after the whistle roughness sometimes as well, which can get called.

So all in all, pretty good, more tinkering to be done...one downside is not being able to view box scores though...
