Dump and chase is a staple of hockey, and there's a reason why NHL teams use it. Anyone who would say such a thing is clearly no hockey fan, bottom line.

I was having difficulty carrying the puck into the zone last night with the Wild, so I decided to adapt to a dump and chase. The result was near world domination. The Wild forwards are very fast, and streaking into the corner to demolish a defenseless defenseman with Cal Clutterbuck might be the funnest thing of all time.

Dump and chase is VERY effective if you know what you're doing and have the right personnel. Even if you don't get there in time, the majority of players are cheesing idiots who have no idea what they're doing, so when they retrieve the puck in the corner, they're just going to look for a homerun pass. Interception in the slot, shot, score, rinse repeat. I like.

Thats actually kinda funny, that some dork sinks down to name calling when facing someone that has the knowledge/sense to play the game in a realistic way. If I played on-line[and was any good]...I'd get great joy in schooling people like that. Good job Matt.

Absolutely not. It's a legitimate hockey strategy that's used a lot in real life. People will find anything to complain about when they lose. One guy questioned my manhood when I was kneeling on a ball in Madden with less than 2 minutes rather than running up the score.

Wow, imagine that, someone getting called out for actually playing with realistic hockey strategies.

They should go trade their games in for Hello Kitty Online or something.

Keep playing the game the way it was intended to be played. EA finally made a dump and chase strategy actually viable this year, so by all means, use it. It's the most fun way to play the game IMO.
