The game is a must-buy....The new engine is a big and much needed move.

I wish EA would add classic teams and more classic jerseys....Save the Whale.....

EA should look what 2K did to their arenas in 2K10. Every small detail was there.
Agree 100%. Don't the arenas in NBA Live (now Elite) have more of a distinct feel to them? And the presentation is also better. Why can't that be brought over into the hockey game. I understand that there are two different divisions working on the games, but that is where sometimes EA falters. I would like more of a co-operation with both teams, especially on the presentation side, to make the little details as realistic as possible.

Re: Things that would make NHL 11 a must-buy

The gameplay is great in this series. It's getting better. There are two things that would make me do a fist pump ... one is the guys finally tuning the skating with the new physics engine. That will make this game insane.

Outside of that (as I'm a gameplay first kind of guy), I would call this game a "must-buy" (as if it isn't already) if they enhanced the presentation to "The Show" type levels.

I'm not talking about the "EA Standard Fare" which are cut-scenes. I mean wall-to-wall presentation overhaul. Make me feel like I'm watching a broadcast. Let's have real arenas with amazing intros ... heck, even the defunct NHL2K had that. Let me see the plethora of stat overlays. Let me see guys coming on and off the ice in a real time presentation. Have more commentator dialogue. Have a decent arena announcer with more things to say between breaks and scores (they guy is a corpse right now).
