BAGM Injuries

How are the injuries in BAGM for you guys?

While not as bad as NHL 09 (I had 2 injuries in 3 full seasons played), I'm noticing some weirdness when it comes to injuries so far in my BAGM. I've got the slider maxed yet I'm still only ever seeing injuries from players getting in front of shots, or missed hits along the boards. I've injured 1 CPU player with a big hit, but that's all I've seen as far as injuries from body contact.

To add to the oddness, after the game my players are no longer injured. I know with some of the minor injuries they're just for that game, but I've had some with full play stoppages, the gimpy cutscene, etc. only to find that it was really no big deal by the next game. I believe only one of these situations has actually yielded a player ineligible to play for 2 games or so. However, in BFTC mode this problem doesn't seem to be present as I've played a few of those and had some form of injury in each.

I figure this could be a couple of things. One, there could be a bug in BAGM (one of many it seems...) or two, perhaps the "I'm dying, carry me" cut scenes are just triggering in game when they shouldn't.

Thoughts?

Re: BAGM Injuries

Mine are pretty reasonable so far I think. I've played about 12-15 games, had del Zotto miss a few games, had Belanger miss a couple of games, and had 2 guys leave the game but not miss the next game. About the same ratio for the CPU.
About half are from getting hit by shots, about half are getting hit by opposing players.

I had a couple injuries, but they were only for a week.

Hudler got SMASHED going for the puck off a faceoff and got injured.

And of course I'm the one to have injuries.

Re: BAGM Injuries

I found that upgrading the staff helps a lot, upgrade the trainer with your points earned in GM mode. I was having an injury a game, nothing major but this helped. Thought it was cool that a player with broken jaw could still skate, just has a big jaw protector on the bottom of helmet for a couple of games.

I'd say 70% of my injuries I did to myself, hitting slap shots at my own players caused a few also going for big hits and missing caused a few, but mainly just out for the game, it does give you option to play them hurt if not too bad of an injury but I choose to sit them out if hurt to prevent a major injury. So far the broken jaw was the worst but he still played.

So overall I haven't seen any that have been too bad for my team since I upgraded my training staff. Before then I did get a couple big injuries, one broken leg out for year.

This is exactly what I haven't seen and I'm wondering why. Obviously I'm not trying to lose players for long periods of time on purpose or anything, but I don't think I've had a long term injury since like NHL 06.

Re: BAGM Injuries

I've had a few in games i was actually playing.
I get a lot in sim games.
I just lost Brad Boyes to a dirty elbow to the head by DJ King when i played Washington. The refs didn't see it, so i crushed him with Volchenkov on his next shift.
