Simming games 1-3-4-5-7 of a playoff series

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!!

So if your series comes down to a GAME 7 - YOU WOULD SIM IT?????????

I don't even know what to say - just buy strat-o-matic hockey or play a hockey board game or something.

I play BAP, but I thinks it's close in gameplay to GM. In BAP your player gets experience points at season end that typically will allow you to level up all 3 types of experience. This helps offset the playoff intensity and stay competetive. I'm finishing up conference now and these post season games have been very fun since you get to play the same team several times on each others' ice. I can't imagine simming any of those games, but I don't usually sim at all anyways.

No, I'm not kidding you.

My thinking is if I don't manage to win the series by the 6th game (meaning the sim has to win me 2 games out 4, since I'll win games 2-6), well so be it:
in my first season, I lost in the Eastern conference semi-final in 7 games. I lost in the 3rd round in my 2nd year. Now I'm just past the trade deadline of my 3rd season, I'm 1st overall even though I play but one game a week. I must be doing something good as a GM

Yes, it is frustrating to lose to a simmed game, but at least each season's outcome isn't known in advance.

And just by the way, and I don't mean to be too harsh, but if you don't know what to say (your own words), why comment at all?

perhaps the problem is with your difficulty level then, if you know you're going to win every game you play

that seems to be the issue. Why not up the challenge on the ice?

Well, I play All-Star, with sliders similar but not identicasl to TNKNGM:
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ner-2-0-a.html

The only thing really would be to cranck up CPU's speed (or play Superstar) but I adamantly refuse to play a game where a speedster like Patrick Kane gets outskated and outsped by the likes of Mike Commodore. It's just wrong.
I accept losing a simmed game, but I can't deal with the fact that my faster skaters get beaten to the puck by the slowest CPU skaters; it makes me want to throw my gamepad.

So I play with as high as I can go (from the CPU's perspective) with the settings, but not at the cost of suspension of disbelief (from my point of view). It's a fine line, and it takes me a couple weeks each year to figure the settings out.

EDIT: I just realized the guy I'm arguing with is the guy that made the sliders that largely influenced mine. Weird
