EA NHL TEAM, please give us a reason why your broadcast view can't look like this? It seems as though this question always gets avoided.

If you are going for a more "authentic" NHL experience. If you are looking at presentation elements that rival NHL TV broadcasts, then there is no question that a REAL broadcast view should be implemented.

God that game looked awful.... broadcast camera was the only thing that look remotely interesting.

But I agree, something like that, can't be that hard to implement. They had it in older NHL games, why not now?

How would you shoot, would up on the right stick still be shoot? Or will it be a windup? That'll confuse the hell for me.

Well, if you played in the current broadcast view, it's not that hard when set to camera relative, pretty instinctive actually. You move the stick towards the net you are shooting on, which is left or right, and the opposite direction would be the wind up.

I've heard the argument, that aiming when shooting would be difficult with this POV(the op's example), but I don't see how if a position on the the left stick represents a particular area of the net. I use auto-aim myself, so I really wish EA would make a broadcast view like this.

I disagree, but a 2K vs EA wasn't my goal in referencing the link. I tried to play with the "broadcast" camera in NHL 11 and it was quite playable. For example, to wind up for a slap shot, you are pulling back horizontally rather than vertically. It obviously takes some getting used to (like everything) but it's quite satisfying when you figure it out.

My complaint here is how terrible the current broadcast camera looks and plays. I really hope they are considering this and giving the view an upgrade - or even better, give us a custom option.

I know it wasn't your intention. Just that the animations, graphics, and gameplay just look dreadful.

I have been wanting a real broadcast camera for years as well, used to have it in 2001.

Yeah well **** with auto-aim even I have no problem. But that's the main thing, if I'm on a quick breakaway and I got 2 seconds to think and I press down on the left stick and instead of 5 hole it's blocker side. If they do put it in, they better just keep that the same.

Re: Broadcast View - Give us a reason why

It's not a matter of them putting it in or not, it's already there! It's not like I'm asking for a new gameplay mode. It is strictly the adjustment or custom option added for broadcast view. I have been asking, as have others for a few years now.

My guess is there must be some coding issue that doesn't let them adjust the camera angle - otherwise, why would they neglect that view for customization. Because there is no way anyone on that development team thinks their broadcast view is authentic to something you see on TV.

I would just like to know why, that's all.
