I have my doubts as well, Gagnon.

I've got a feeling it would possibly take a pretty big outcry to have this option added. Which I don't really think is there.

Madden is notorious for this. At least the NHL series didn't suffe like Madden did when it made the leap to the 360 and PS3.

Re: Be A GM Overhaul.

Here are few big things I think need fixing in GM Mode:

1. Computer initiated trades. They are a joke, I didn't even put Erik Johnson on the block (90 overall) and the computer offered me three awful prospects for him.

2. Rookie ratings/Player Development. Either they need to progess faster or they need to come in rated higher. Other than Adam Larsonn and RNH, I don't think any of these guys have progressed in my GM Mode. Larsonn (86) and RNH (81) going into Season 4 of their career. I've had a couple other 1st round picks in my GM Mode and none of them are above (71) to this point. Including some guy by the name Tobia who I took #1 overall two seasons ago and is still only a (70).

Re: Be A GM Overhaul.

No customizable season length has kept me from playing a full season of BAGM/dynasty ever since I started playing the games again with NHL09. I really don't understand what the problem is including it but there must be some major programming involved.

Maybe if the sim engine is much improved for nhl12 this won't matter as much.

In 11 I did a thorough edit project to have lots of young guys with decent potentials and averages for the first 3-4 yrs of drafts. Editing 15-16 yr olds with high potential but leaving them at around 60-65 will have them be mid 70s in their draft years to give you better prospects at least for the first few yrs of your draft.

The draft, progression, contracts, teams using the salary cap properly, so many things that need correcting in BeAGM for it to be worth it next year.

EA mostly sucks about this, especially for Madden. They'll put all their focus into some other part of the game (ala Be A Pro will get a ton of love this year while GM is the exact same) instead of opening new doors for the GM option. They'll wait for another year to develop the franchise modes simply so they can hype it as a centerpiece to justify series progression.

I'm hoping that NHL doesn't get the same treatment ala Madden and that Be A GM gets some love, even if it's just a few little adjustments to improve it.

Agree 100%

I've made it through to a few drafts, and ya...man, the top draft picks imo too, come in too low rated.

I mean...I'm never getting through enough GM seasons to have these draft picks, ever be rated high enough to be any use to me. I understand their trying for realism. But imo, having the draft picks coming in higher rated would just be more practical.

Re: Be A GM Overhaul.

about rookie development, isn't that in the 4 categories for GM to use his points one of them is Assistant coach wherein the development of players are involved. Perhaps the reason why the development of the Rookies is slow because we don't prioritize this section and we focus on others like scouting etc?
