Yeah, me to.
I really love how the last few years you're now actually able to score on breakaways, without deking the goalie.
Instead of repeating left, right, left... you can actually just place the shot top shelf, and it goes in many times.

Well he stated he's talking about EASHL or Versus play, where you can't adjust the sliders. That said, you can score other ways online as well so long as your team is willing to work the puck around.

The "dynamic" goalies are to blame for this. They are always in perfect position and never let in a soft goal. And even the dekes people use are the same 2 over and over, which aren't really dekes as much as tricking the ai.

IMO we need to see plenty more deflections and poor angle shots go in. Plus as an online player I can't change sliders and play people who more or less try to score the same type of goal over and over the whole game.
Um, more variety than what? I get all the things you mention, like every game or maybe two apart, I experience every one of those things.

And savoie2006 is right. For an example, say someone passes back to the point, well depending where they are, they can move to the front to try for a deflection, or follow up for a rebound. Those goals have to be created by the team, rather than a wrist shot or something.

But I get everything you mentioned. I get deflections, rebounds, in off a leg, or a defender, I get weird angle goals, lousy ones with a bounce of the boards that goes to someone on the offense. There's LOTS of variety.

And yeah, what savoie2006 says is really applicable when you have human team mates. CPU is still not very smart. Unless it's me, I don't know how to work strategy in BAGM lol.

I don't use dekes and I get goals. I think its all in how you set up your gameplay.

The CPU had one earlier where they shot it from the blue line and it somehow went in, but the ref said no goal. They reviewed it upstairs and sure enough, the dude high-sticked it before it went through my goalie's 5 hole. No dice, buddy.

This game has a lot of variety on the goal opportunities I think.

Re: Dekes shouldn't be the only way to score

I don't even really use real sliders, just manually adjusted Pro sliders mainly to increase one-timer success and decrease hitting, and I've been extremely happy with how I've been scoring goals, scoring them from wristers in the slot, slap shots at the point, dekeing, deflections, scrums, rebounds, one-timers, you name it.

90% of my goals are off quick wristers, point slap shots, rebounds, one timers, and a bunch of other types. Very rarely do I deke. Setting up in the offensive zone works better than cherry picking from the blue line or trying for a 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 to deke the goalie IMO.
