Question Live The Life: What Position Should a beginner Play As?

NHL is probably the best franchise imo, but I've never tried career mode Ive mostly just played some random games at school with friends. I'm also trying to get into Hockey in general, I'm a Caps fan but I don't know a lot about the in depth stuff.

Anyway what kind of player should a beginner like me be im trying to create a pro

thanks guys

Probably either wing. Fewest responsibilities, and simplest job overall. Easiest combination would probably be a sniper LW/RW. Can just float around waiting for passes/playing half-assed defense by just skating to your assignment and occupying space.

+ 1 for Wing. I can say that from my own experience starting on the RW with a right handed shooter. Progressed until I now switch up between two characters playing Center and Defense.

As for the type of player to make, if you are a beginner and your looking to learn the sport the type of player you pick may be a help or hindrance as you play. A lack of points for one type of player is over looked in others...

So if you are looking to contribute a lot of points to the team You would want to be a Sniper or Playmaker.

If you want a well rounded player overall, then again a rounded build on a play maker or a Two Way Forward would be a choice.

Then if you don't think that you'll be able to help the team out in point production but still want to play none the less, Grinder or Enforcer.

Good luck!

Re: Live The Life: What Position Should a beginner Play As?

honestly I say Sniper Center.......

gets REALLY boring being a winger playing that PointMan

Center gets to float around the whole Ice, supporting the play (sort of speak)....wing is just a little to..... limited for new guys who dont know the position (I say)

so I say Center Sniper, or Center 2-Way Forward

For me, the best position to start playing as is Goaltender. You almost always start at 70 overall or higher and you are on the top line. Also, when you play as Goaltender, the periods are only 5 minutes long so you don't have to play 1/3 of the game which gets boring if you play every game in the whole season.
