Holtzie - I have no problems with distortion in my pack and there are s____loads of people using it with no complaints of distortion.

Did you use a program to try and modify the files? or did you use them as is directly form my pack?

A lot of music these days use dynamic range compression to sound "loud", and I'm guessing thats what EA did with their tracks as well, which is why its hard to get regular custom music up to the levels of the EA music without distortion. I used the same technique with this pack.

Heres a few good wikis to read up about this stuff:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_range_compression

Depending on your sound system (stereo or 5.1) and your taste you may want to bump up the Arena Music slider a few notches though. I found that on my 5.1s everything sounds great but on stereo I definitely need to up the Arena Music a little (Arena Music controls custom horn volume as well).

I agree for the most part, distortion doesn't make a big difference when using it as custom music because the game does some filtering, and if you've been at a game live, music can sound pretty awful depending on the arena setup too. But even with my 09 pack a lot of audiophiles complained which is why I used this method instead.

Re: BCRT's NHL 11 Music Pack (incl. 300+ playlists, ps3 support, 2000+ mp3s)

I'm getting astrange message when I download these packs. A window pops up that says "Next Volume is Required" and asks me to "insert a disk with this volume and press 'OK' to try again or press 'cancel' to break extraction".

Got to say, I've never seen anything like this. I haven't the slightest idea what this is talking about. When I go into the actual songs (mp3 files) I cannot see anything wrong with them. Anyone else seen anything like this?

Thats because you need all 4 parts downloaded into the same folder before extracting. Its all one package.

I am actually burning these to CD's and putting them on my hard drive. Do I still need to pot them all in one file? I can listen to all the songs from the first and second pack with no problem.

Its all one package. You can do whatever you want with the files after you extract them, but you need to download all four parts before extracting if you want to extract it properly. Even if you extract every archive individually there are files that are linked between the archives which won't be extracted.

This has gotten way too complicated for my liking. I'm not sure how to do it. I've downloaded all four files now but some won't open. I'm sure I am screwing something up but it's just become too much.

You only need to extract part 1. If you have all 4 parts it will automatically extract all of them (and won't prompt you for the next volume).
