Does it randomly lock you on a position or is there a way to select a position to lock onto?

I caved with it and I am enjoying it, but I still play 14 for my OTP. But the core upgrade feels great, I just wish we could take our pros online with OTP.

It locks a certain position, ex: C, LW, RW, D, etc. . Once you are in BeGM mode and start a game, pause the game, go to select sides and click your left stick until you see the position you want to use.

Ill mess with it some, but does that work the same for online 1 vs 1? Main reason is I feel it could somewhat simulate a bit the feeling I have when playing my C in OTP, just to lock in on him and play. But I haven't seen anywhere in the menus when setting up online versus to actually select which position to lock.
