Sounds about right.

I think that is a "small" drop off that they calculated. By reducing resources they probably didn't spend much and probably still made money.

I can just see next year, they will start advertising "new features" or "skill sticks" or "new modes" and slowly start building hype, increasing sales, and increasing resources....

If you think about it, all games coming to Gen4 the first time were kind of "meh" efforts.

NBA2k14 was missing modes from Gen3
Madden 25 was a port with updated graphics
NBA Live 14 was far from complete

FIFA 14 was still a good release, but it wasn't leaps and bounds above Gen3, especially compared to what FIFA 15 has to offer.

NHL ended up the same way. Missing gamemodes with the emphasis on graphics and presentation. The NHL series will be back to what we would expect, and more, in the coming years. It just looked like making that first leap to Gen4 was really developers having to start over, and it will take time.

Meanwhile, a game called Destiny where you try to save the universe by shooting monsters sold 2 million copies.

NHL needs to add a story line where you are a secret agent posing as a hockey player and every once in a while you go on a mission where you hunt down and kill a monster with a hockey stick.
