- The input lag makes breakaways harder than ever before in the NHL Series. Its very difficult to keep up with skaters without moving a fraction of a second earlier than we would like.
- This video will show various types of useful desperation saves as well as some methods for playing breakaways 'straight up'. Its important to practice and find out which ones work best for you as your 'go-to' moves.
Also learn the pros/cons of each move.
- It's always important to try to mix things up on clear breakaways. If you face a few in a game (which shouldn't happen) or you face a club that's knows you, its important to keep them guessing.
- On the flip side, you may be up against an opponent you're familiar with and know their go-to move. Keep that in mind as well.
- If you have a defender on their trail, try to see if they are forcing a the skater to one side of the net making your job easier.
- Don't get frustrated!! In theory you only have a 50/50 chance. Don't expect to save every one. Just stay in your crease, make your reads, and give it your best shot.
