Question New to NHL

Hey guys sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but since the game is now on the EA Vault i thought why no jump into it and learn about hockey. I was raised in the United States but ended up moving to Toronto 2 years ago so hockey is pretty big here lol, but any tips for a new comer like me that wants to learn more about the sport and the game also?

Thank you in advance for the help

Re: New to NHL

Playing lots of nhl 16 is the best way to get familiar with the rules and players to where watching real life hockey becomes second nature and way more excited. Hockey is also the best spectator sport so I highly recommend going to an NHL game especially during the stanley cup playoffs

Re: New to NHL

If you want to learn how to play (or enjoy) the real thing, I would start with youtube. Playing NHL 16 is a good place to learn the basic rules and things, but a lot of the nuances of the game aren't captured particularly well (team systems, defensive fundamentals, etc.) It's a good time to start watching with the playoffs just beginning. Especially the Hawks vs. Blues and Kings vs. Sharks. They're both rivals. Red Wings vs. Lightning are starting to be a rivalry.

Also take a long around the hockey subforums here. Dr Jones is a hockey encyclopedia and there's good convos going on there.
