Just played a 20 minute period on Superstar

Ive never played a 20 minute period before so I decided to give it a try on Superstar difficulty. I only messed with these two sliders

CPU teammate penalty frequency slider turned all the way down

Broken stick frequency turned all the way down

I played as the home team and it was Tampa Bay Lightning @ Anaheim Ducks

Here were the stats

Lightning:

3 goals
28 shots
2/7 powerplays
6 penalty minutes
13 faceoffs won
85 % passing
1:37 time on attack
13 hits
0 shorthanded goals

Ducks:

5 goals
40 shots
1/1 powerplays
12 penalty minutes
17 faceoffs won
79 % passing
2:52 time on attack
42 hits
1 shorthanded goal

Not sure if it's a problem or not. Are you saying that you had a great game or was there an issue?

It was actually pretty enjoyable. But the stats were just so kooky, I got called for 4 charging penalties, 1 tripping, a goaltender interference and a regular interference penalty.

I turned off CPU teammate penalties and broken sticks to eliminate some of the bs randomness that can annoy you during a game.

I had 40 shots in one period. I felt like it played smoothly and my players were actually playing normally the way they should. But I think it was just way too easy to get pucks on net, and stick checking is so useless in the game unless you want to get called for penalties. Its impossible to accurately block passing lanes or consistently make accurate poke checks.

I can for sure agree with you there. It takes no effort for me to skate in and easily have a great opportunity in the offensive zone, even on Superstar difficulty. The CPU AI just isn't aggressive enough defensively. They never gap up and take away time and space from me and that is something I would like to see them do. I don't want to easily get 40-50 shots a game. Make me work for it by changing up the neutral zone play. I've said it a million times but I need to be forced to dump and chase. Stats would be more realistic if the CPU actually made me dump the puck in every once in a while.
