Division realignment

This feature was clearly in a build at some point as it appeared on the EA franchise mode video so where is it??

Is this something that will/is going to be added by patch?

Takes alot of the realism away as I want to create the Hartford Whalers as the 32nd team and put them in the Atlantic Division.

Re: Division realignment

I watched a video and saw this in it too, but it's not in there now. It was from where you start a new franchise in franchise mode. Where you select the mode, name, team, etc.. They must have scrapped it or will add it in an update. I woyld have loved to have this too because I like to move the teams with bad fan support to more deserving cities (Quebec). And rejoin teams that should be division rivals (Detroit and Chicago).

Re: Division realignment

call me petty but no buy if this isn't in. no LCA either? no presentation upgrades? no new commentary? same old lighting engine? no 5-man celebrations? crowd still 'meh' when a goal is scored? yeah nah, i'll stick with 17.

Re: Division realignment

For now there is a way around it.

1. Create a team (don't spend any time on it as you won't need it)

2. Start franchise mode (32 team)

3. Create Quebec Nordiques to play in the Central Division, not totally ideal but believable.

4. On the team select screen replace Buffalo with your created team from earlier (substitute team option)

5. Then replace Carolina with Buffalo the same way.

6. Replace the created team with Carolina.

7. This now leaves Buffalo in the Met Division, Carolina in the Atlantic and Quebec in the Central.

8. Created team is unused.

9. Select Carolina and Relocate to Hartford.

10. At the end of season 17/18 Hartford will be in the Atlantic in a 32 team league.

Still would ideally like to add Hartford as team 32, move Detroit back to the Central and Hartford take their place. Hopefully a patch will add it in.

Re: Division realignment

Have you checked to see if the schedules for the moved teams line up with their new division?

I think so. I moved Detroit into the west (I was a team in the East), and I only played them twice.

Re: Division realignment

Actually looking at it again it appears if you swap teams they take their schedule with them.

Created Quebec as 32nd team. Swapped them with Detroit. Then swapped Carolina and Buffalo around.

Selected Carolina (to move to Hartford) and it appears I have a western conference schedule.

Hopefully after season 1 when the game needs to generate a new schedule it will recognise I'm in the East.
