Only if the fact that your team logo not appearing on the score board at the bottom of the screen doesn't bother you...

OK, good, I am not the only one... I saw that last night and thought to myself, did I just see that... Never gave it much thought, they didn't score, I didn't score, but I had just lost possession in my zone and yes, the team including the goalie went on a breakout (goalie obviously went to the bench for an extra attacker)... At first, I thought I had a penalty called on me... LOL

Goalies are not patched. People in 3s are still skating in a half circle and shooting cross-grain for an easy goal. Teams with 5 one timers 5 goals still exist. Goalies can't make a save to... well, SAVE their lives. Tell me what you want about it being a "video game", but never played a video game of a sport where the stats are blown up to keep the kiddies happy.

Never been able to lap in 30 seconds in F1. Never been able to throw 10 times from half court and score 10 three pointers. Never been able to constantly do the same passing play in NFL and score a TD every time. Only NHL gets this disrespect.

And we still have people purposely hitting late and not getting called, while you can't breath on them in front of the net while they're receiving a pass or it's a penalty shot. LOL.

This isn't hockey.

It didn’t fix the syncing glitch after goals on PS4. I just had to quit a great game against the Caps in the 2nd period because of it.

I'm not even mad. I'm just sad that once again, I can't play my position. It's been this way since NHL 14, so 7 years now and counting.

When will people finally come to realize that the devs just don't know hockey. They are lovely people and I was lucky enough to get to know some and speak to them. And some I know some know the sport well, and are big fans.

But for some reason when it comes to translating that into a game... They just don't know. Or they purposely transform this:

into this:

Sigh....

As much as I agree with you here, the community is also the problem. The big time streams and esports teams want guaranteed goals. They want this game to be like CS:GO where there's a 100% success rate no matter what they do, and if they follow the right pathing with the right RS input that = goal. The offline/realistic side of the community has no voice. We have no major streamer advocating for us. It's impossible to think that 2k could make extremely dynamic goalies 14 years ago and EA can't remove wrap-around glitch goals now. I think it's an equal mix of the competitive scene, their fundamental knowledge, and their effort level that all contributes to the most dynamic, electric, awesome position in professional sports (imo) to be dumbed down into a blocking dummy that has 100% success rates on "normal" shots and 0% success rates on the "money" goals.

Quick rant - Trying to play goalie is an absolute disaster. The CPU will do everything in their power to never shoot anywhere except the most dangerous place on the ice, the slot. Your defenders have absolutely no awareness of this fact and I’m just getting sniped over and over again as my team allows whoever has the puck to skate right in front of the goal. If my defender does have position, they’ll just continue to back skate until everyone is within 5 feet of the net and then from there I’m completely screened.

The computer will basically never shoot from anywhere else, the point, the wings, anywhere but the slot. I basically face 23-26 point blank shots and end up letting in 3-6 goals a game.

Rinse and repeat until I go mad, if I’m not already there.

In a sense yes, but the real ones responsible for the attitude of the influencers are themselves. If you treat your product like a joke, if you don't respect the sport, then the people playing won't either.

If all you do is watch 5 minute clips of replays and base your gameplay on that, then you can't expect people to base their expectation on what the gameplay is going to be. Much less the influencers who's main reason to post gameplay on twitch or youtube is to gain a following, not fix your game.

Yes. Unfortunately, the goalie is in a sorry state and will always remain that way unless they completely revamp the whole system from the ground up. You want to know what's even sadder? Play human goalie in BaP for 5 minutes, and you see the sorry state the AI is in. Just 5 minutes. No passing. No breakout. No cycling once in the zone. And as you saw, no defense once the opponent is in your zone.

Again, the goalie is made into a sorry state. Goalies don't lead with their sticks. They don't use their limbs to save (or very, very rarely) compared to what they do in real life.

Pathetic...
