Yep. like this idea way more, than allowing just one left direction for the defending player.
Maybe disallowing gate movement while L has a direction at all

True, they would just click L3 constantly. Same difference. Now if you do like I said and make your gates fill slow if you are using the LS, it will deter people more. It isn't a guarantee though since people always have let people win a stage of the sub to throw them off. They could probably make it not pop up on the defensive side though if you are already holding the left stick. Kind of like not allowing preemptive denials. So basically, if you are doing this, you would never even get the green prompt to avoid the sub switch.

I dont think so i think that puts them in Mount but not postured up. This puts them postured up and even let's then get a strike or two in before your block can come up. It happens faster than any other animation I can think of, that's why it seems like a glitch.

All that needs to be done is to make the gates reset/shrink if you push the left stick in any direction when no green prompt is on screen. You would then have to hit the prompt on reaction which is how id imagine it was intended to be used.

If you are performing a sub and mess up on a prompt the guy you are subbing has his gates expand, just do the opposite of that for the guy defending if that makes any sense.

Never saw that one. Do you happen to have a video of it. It could help with finding out how to reproduce the bug.

I'll go through my gameplay video and see if I captured it. It has only happened a few times but Ithe seems like I would have recorded it.
