There is pretty much one dominant fighter per division. After that there are a lot more choices

No. I don't think there is a clear cut number 2 in each division. There seems to be one overpowered fighter in each weight class, then 3-5 vying for the #2 spot. Also, this would incentivize the next rung of fighters as they aren't much worse than fighters 2-4 (just as an example).

This is a minor improvement, but the major improvement would be to have you pick your fighter before you are assigned an opponent, and then for it to match make you +- 3 of the fighter you selected's OVR.

I wouldn't be against this as an option. Just two different ways of thinking about it. (Really there are more between our ideas, but the general though is this.)

- Your option solves for statistical balance between fighters
- My proposal only serves to allow you to avoid one fighter in the division you've selected to fight in

There is no wrong answer here. I actually don't mind a somewhat lopsided match (on paper). I just don't want to figh the same 5 guys. You're idea is a good one too, but, unfortunately the online community is pretty small. I worry your fairness matching method would lead to unintended consequences in which fights are made based on even character match ups, but often leads to a mismatch in the level of the actual gamer. Just a thought

Ok, you won't be fighting Dominic Cruz every fight instead you're fighting Dillashaw every fight.

No Lawler...ok now your fighting GSP every fight.

People usually go for champs. Instead of Miesha you're now fighting Holm every fight.

Also please make it so we can't be the same fighter. It's just annoying when you pick the same fighter as your opponent, takes away realism.

I'd play random mode all day otherwise it's Dillashaw vs Dillashaw every match...lol great
