It's something I've been wanting to ask GPD about, cuz I remember him saying all round kicks can be punished the same way. But with the body kick, unlike leg kicks, it constantly locks you in hit stun when it lands. Seems only way to punish it really is catching it or timing a duck and punch. And the block switch seems to slow to catch it on reaction.

The body kick has a higher stopping power than the leg kick. Maybe it could be nerfed. I don't know. I had suggested 0.5 for it, but in play sessions it didn't feel impactful enough, so they went with 0.9. I suppose I would be curious to play it with 0.5, but I don't think the jab-body kick is nearly as good as people are making it sound. Maybe I'll do a video about defense, with some examples of how to counter it. I feel silly when I eat it a lot in one fight. And when I'm in a groove, like in a long play session against good players, I usually end up defending well against it.

Is there no incentive to attack the liver? Everybody body kick I saw was to the left side of the body.

Well currently the hit stun on it makes defending it more of a timing thing now. So it gets a bit more tricky unlike with leg kicks where you have the option of punishing guys for using it from the wrong range. I'm curious to see what 0.5 was like...was it more like UFC 2's without the combo multiplier?

The rule is just radically different from UFC 2. I think the body knee, now, has 0.5, if you wish to compare. I think the side kicks to teh leg, do, too. It means you have to hit the at half of his execution, at the latest, or he won't be stopped.

True. Sounds like that would have been more ideal for body kicks imo.

Thanks bro, I'm glad you liked the fight, your feedback would be much appreciated. There's still loads for me to learn about this game, the open beta period wasnt nearly enough. I think dealing with good players that use a lot of leg kicks and punishing the body kick after a block-stun is my number one weakness at the minute.

Good thing the people in this thread whom I actually respect and whos opinions matter to me liked the fight. I'd love to see either of you post a video of your fights so we can see how your striking compares, after all it's easy to talk **** about other peoples efforts from the sidelines.

I didn't knock the effectiveness of your striking at all. You could be amazing at the game.

It's just this is a realistic fight thread. If the dudes you look up to consider this a realistic fight, I'm not sure what they've been watching.

I'm glad you like those dudes, I do as well. But in a realistic fight thread that video is kind of a "roll eyes" video in terms of realism.

I could post realistic fight, but it would just be fighting like Rousey, or Maia, lol.
