Fighter Specific Small lunges

Does anyone know about these?

It seems to be stance specific each stance style has different ones for instance Gokhan Saki, Garbrandt and Aldo have a small step backwards that bobs their head back like a slip and this has evasive properties from punches and you can counter from them incredibly quick during your opponents combos. The side steps have evasive properties from uppercuts and straights and it seems when you counter from these it has tremendous stopping power. I didn’t know about them until now and have never seen them mentioned or utilised only the advanced and signature lunges

Go into practice mode and pick any fighter and just flick the left stick in any direction and you’ll see, I’ve been playing around with them a little been trying to work them of off combos, block the first strike quickly let go of block and flick ls back and counter. Also works well against predictable straight punches when you do the sidestep counters. They’re not as risky and don’t leave you as stationary as head movement or advanced lunges.

Not sure if the footwork stat has any impact on the effectiveness. If a dev, GC or anybody in the know could give a little insight it would be much appreciated

Interested in hearing your guys thoughts.

The flick lunges. I wish they had some more range on them.

I like how they are they’re very subtle so you can counter from them quickly but I do wish the chained better from a previous combo, block head movement or any other lunge and make them a little quicker

I hope all the lunges can be chained with striking/grappling like how striking and grappling can be with this new patch.

All lunges have a delay now. We can't really do in and out movement with the lunges.

Not exactly. Lunges by themselves facilitate a bit of in and out movement.

But I am referring to is the delay when trying to chain lunges with strikes/grappling.

So say I want to jab and immediately lunge out or something. We hit this delay like how grappling had before the patch.
