This is EXACTLY what is killing me about takedowns right now

So not only can takedowns on whiffed headkicks be denied in ridiculous fashion putting you into sprawl, they can also be denied into a 2 gate guillotine submission.

If even the best takedown opportunities can reliably be turned into the worst possible fight ending situations, why would anyone ever shoot for a takedown?

Someone please explain to me how this makes any sense?

Aggressive fighters constantly moving forward flicking left, right or down on the right stick before throwing hooks should be easy to take down. Also left or right sways while standing still should lead to an easier takedown IMO since the fighter is off balance. The video of the ducked kick is insane tho, is it any confirmation that they even care about fixing this issue? The only way I can get a takedown with any consistency is off of a checked leg kick.
