The New Indy starts filming

I thought it was "good" but definitely not great. I'd rank it 4th out of the 4 movies for sure. Still a very fun summer flick, but it does seem to be "missing" something.

I liked it though.

Sorry but as a big Indiana Jones buff this movies was a huge disappointment.

There are many problems in this movie. Way over the top with too much sci fi. Is this Star Wars or Indiana Jones? I have no problems with the aliens and all that. That was fine. But was it necessary to show the alien in life like form in the end? And I'm serious, they couldn't just leave it in skeleton form?

Acting was fine but it was the lack of actors which killed it. In every movie you had many actors that establish a rapport in here. In here you have Jones, the Russian doctor and that is pretty much it. Where is the supporting cast? The Russian doctor is leading this entire mission? Where is the actual villain in this movie?

Also in the beginning of the movie the point of this skull is to get mind control as weapon. How does this switch over to knowing more information from the aliens. For a doctor that was researching all this, she sure was hasty in putting that skull back on.

There is more like swinging through the jungle like George of the Jungle to finding a long snake to pull someone out? Too tired to think and explain my thoughts more but this is what I think now.

Too tired to go into detail and I have work in 5 hours but I'll get more into it tomorrow.

The alien story line was fine, it was until the alien was alive at the end which made me sit there and think WTF. And than the alien just flew away in the UFO.

That;'s funny because he was on Good Morning America and he came off as this smug bore. He can be funny in certain situations.

BTW just so you guys know a lot of the alien/crystal skull/sci fi physics was taken from the material of Richard C. Hoagland. Depending on your view of him this is either really groundbreaking in that his stuff is getting mainstream publicity or terrible that a charlatan was the basis for the not so great plot of this Indy film.

I haven't seen it yet but I intend to but I thought i'd pass along that info.

Everywhere else I've seen reviews they've been really good. Even on imdb it was 8.8 when I checked this morning and on rottentomatoes it's at 80%.
