Basically two soldiers going for a walk the entire movie.

I felt the same way about it although to be fair I did watch this at home.

Best picture? Oh heck no.

About 45 minutes too long.

A solid movie but nothing as memorable as Goodfellas and Casino. Not in those movies league.

Could not agree more on this film.

I really enjoyed this, but Best Picture? No, I'd rather Joker get it over this. Much more memorable and different.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

I'm rooting for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood even though I haven't seen all the films. I've watched it three times already but was disappointed to hear that the extended version won't be ready until 2021.

I might catch Marriage Story on Netflix before the Oscars.

Joker was good but not a repeat watch for me.

Wide-open race from what I'm hearing.

Saw 1917 yesterday; very good and very moving, one of the few times I can recall total silence in the theater as the credits started rolling.

I think the criticisms of 1917 being "boring" or not having enough action or whatever misunderstand what the film's about. It's not there to engage in mindless war porn; it just wants you to take the vantage point of a guy traveling through a hellscape to do his job; and it's way better for it.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

1917 was pretty damn good IMO. Really liked the way it was shot, the two main actors were good and believable, and the scenes did a great job at moving the plot along.

Richard Jewell
7/10
Not great but not bad. What they did to that man was crazy.
The FBI was so corrupt with him. The scene with him at the end in front of the FBI was amazing.

Queen and Slim
5/10
Just didn’t like it. I can’t really describe why I didn’t like it, it just was different.
The acting wasn’t horrible, it just kind of dragged on for me.

Also I don’t get why people think 1917 is boring. I mean it’s what happened. Did you want them to add things tout that didn’t happen to make it more exciting? Again I thought it was amazing.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Had heard some hype about Hustlers from a movie podcast I listen to, it didn’t disappoint, J Lo really killed that role.
