MI4: Ghost Protocol

Good for what it was, even if the plot had some gaping holes. Cruise is still believable a guy that can play the lead in these movies, and thought he was good here.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Finally saw Captain America. Thought it was ok. Why did they do so many 'action montages' instead of just showing some more action scenes? That kind of bothered me.

Ranking the Marvel movies leading up to The Avengers:

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
Captain America

Iron Man 2

Watched The Last Boyscout last night. Watched it on TV so it was muted and blurred, but still a classic from when I was a kid lol. So many corny one liners, and the lighting is just off in so many scenes.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Watched a 1973 made for TV movie with a great cast called The President's Plane is Missing

The telefilm stars Buddy Ebsen, Peter Graves, Arthur Kennedy, Raymond Massey and Rip Torn.

Unfortunately the story isn't exactly the strongest but the cast saves it with their very good portrayals.

Quote:
While on the brink of a military confrontation with China, Air Force One crashes in the desert, killing the President. This brings Vice-President Kermit Madigan to power who, having been left in the dark by the president, must now rely on his predecessor's aides to guide him. But they have markedly different viewpoints and hidden agendas. Will he blunder his way into a nuclear exchange with the Chinese?
Ebsen plays Madigan and he's (the character) is clearly a lightweight who was only put on the ticket because he comes from California. You see how he's kowtowed and manipulated into nearly throwing the US into a nuclear exchange with China. Rip Torn plays the main villain in the plot as he, in his advisory role gets Madigan to the point of nearly pushing the nuclear button. The thing about Torn's portrayal is that he's clearly riffing off of Kissinger as he has an affected accent and is seen holding onto and smoking a pipe throughout.

Graves and Kennedy are reporter and wire service head respectively who seek to find out if indeed the President has died in the plane crash and uncover a conspiracy but one that ends up being for the good of the nation. Graves does a pretty darn good job in his role and Arthur Kennedy steals the show in every scene he's in as there's a charisma to his old timer character who's seen it all.

Effective little political/mystery film that is held up by the cast so about 2 1/2 out of 4 stars.

My soul to take. It was pretty bad. It was supposed to be a horror film I guess.

Hanna- I hated the trailer but really enjoyed the movie. Excellent acting, directing, and action scenes. Recommended.

Fright Night. Very good remake. In fact, I wasn't the hugest fan of the first and pretty much preferred this one. Little bit of a surprise in this one as well.
