Also broke out my 'Day after Tomorrow' dvd. I always like to watch that movie when it's sweltering outside, helps cool me off
I love On The Waterfront it's one of the better movies of its type and both Malden and Brando were great in it.

Roman Holiday OTOH?

I wish I liked it as much as you did. I mean I own it, so I like it to an extent... I just wouldn't ever have the word "perfect" cross my mind, though.

I showed my dad The Kingdom for the first time, and I forgot how underlooked this title is. Not that it should be an Oscar winner or anything, but I don't think I've heard a single OS member ever mention this film before (perhaps outside of its own dedicated thread, if there even is one). I wish the BD lossless audio left a bit more punch, though.

I also showed my sister and her husband Star Trek the other night. They admit to loving it, though never want to be called Trekkies. Neither do I.

Oh trust I expected somebody to disagree. I loved it. Im a sci-fi/horror guy but found myself givin a damn about the romantic aspect of it....to me that's an achievment if a flick can get me to do that lol Overall, I thought it was great.

Lockout. I somewhat liked it. Above average sci-fi action movie. The villains did the best acting jobs in this, IMO. Stone was just obnoxious--didn't give a lot of reasons to root for him.

Talladega Nights. Not a Will Ferrell fan, but this was funny throughout. Surprisingly good character development of Ricky Bobby. I was hooked after this quote "I wake up in the morning and pi$$ excellence!"

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

I've watched a lot of movies over the past week and the same actor has popped up in three of them.

I watched The Adjustment Bureau, Real Steel, and Man on a Ledge this week and Anthony Mackie was in all of them. I guess he's pretty popular according to IMDB, but the only other thing I saw that I remember him in was We Are Marshall (don't remember him in Eagle Eye, 8 Mile, or Million Dollar Baby). The Hurt Locker is on my Netflix list right now too, and what do you know, he's in that too lol.

Other movies I've watched in addition to those other three the past couple weeks are:
Unstoppable
Limitless
Morning Glory
50/50
Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker: I remember not watching the series as a kid because it was a new Batman so I didn't even consider watching the movie, now after watching it last night I'm considering watching the series. Really entretaining animations movie, fast paced with lots of action and fight scenes, story was interesting and good voice acting. I watched the uncut version because there was a PG13 version but I read it was toned down a lot.
