That's definitely a possibility.

95 is a long time to live, but it sounds like he/they had more time ahead, especially with his wife only being 63 years old.

Just last year I resurfaced the random factoid that Hackman's last film was Welcome to Mooseport. Glad he had many other great films in his repertoire before that one.

First Michelle Trachtenberg, now him. I sincerely hope the law of three doesn't apply here in the next week of time.

Can't decide who's the better Lex Luthor, Hackman or Kevin Spacey, but as far as basketball movies go, he's the best coach in the best basketball movie in Hoosiers. Coincidentally, I just watched this again less than a couple months ago for the first time in a quarter century. Excellent sports movie. Hackman is also topnotch in Unforgiven, which can stand toe-to-toe with any western IMO.

Main theory I saw is that he died (naturally?) and his wife couldn't bare to live without him (or just wanted some sort of medication to help ease the pain, like antidepressants?) which led to her death, and the bottle being open with pills after she died is what the dog ate?

You could probably find dozens of theories right now.
