I'd like a proper Season 9 where that finale is scrapped. Just say it was apart of a dream Dexter was having and then start fresh.

I'd guess it's something more along the lines of a cast reunion on zoom or something.

The last 4 seasons were so bad that I have no interest in a revival.

7 was solid IMO and I think 5 is a bit underrated. On my last rewatch of the series I just skipped 6 entirely and 8 is hard to watch just because you know how it ends.

Having finished watching the entire show within the last couple of months. Can say 5 was good, probably up there with the first season. But the last 3 were trash if we’re trying to say this show is a drama. They’re real good if we’re considering the show a comedy though.

Showrunner Clyde Phillips says the revival will take place in present day (IE a time gap since the show ended) and will NOT undo anything but will "make things right".

"This isn't Dexter season nine. … This was an opportunity to write a second finale for the show."

So Deb will still be dead (maybe she'll be a ghost like Harry), I wonder how he ends up back in Miami (assuming that's what they go for). Seems fitting that Miami Metro would end up capturing him, no? But as far as they know, he's been dead all this time.

Really wonder how they're gonna do this.
