Yeah, I can't recall any regular site that I currently have whitelisted for uBlock (I simultaneously use Adblock Plus).

Even with the scare some months ago with YT, it seems either YT gave up or uBlock et al won. So if even arguably the most powerful technology company in the world has been beaten, then it is safe to say that in the short term we have won.

I get bombarded by this site for having my ad blocker on.

which ad blocker are you using? ublock origin blocks these type of turn off your ad block messages too. No reason to use adblock plus because they allow "acceptable ads". Makes it useless if it's still going to show me ads I don't want to see in the first place.

I was using adblock on Chrome. I just added ublock and it lets me on the site, weird though, I still have to sign in to OS every time I change screens, even with the box checked to stay logged in. I don't have this problem on Firefox.

You should check your chrome settings regarding cookies. Sounds like you have it set to clear cookies every time you close browser or something to that effect

Re: Which Web Browser Do You Use?

Firefox + ublock origin.

I worked on the Edge team when we moved to Chromium. I learned a few things:
1 - I don't trust Google at all. Never using Chrome.
2 - For a while (when I was there) the Edge team was doing awesome work to support usability and privacy (as much as we were able to given we had to make money with Bing). Then shortly after I left there was a big leadership shakeup and they literally stopped caring about all the user-focused stuff. So now I view it as just a re-skinned Chrome.

Re: Which Web Browser Do You Use?

Slowly the "ublock block" is happening on Chromium supported browsers, which I believe it also means Edge.

Firefox seems to be people's choice of browser if/when their Chrome extensions are gone.

It'll be interesting to see the shift in browser usage once everyone is forced to get rid of their ad blocking extensions on certain browsers. I definitely see a surge in Firefox usage.

I used to use Firefox before Chrome was a thing/became the main browser people used, might wind up going back to it.

I love the convenience of watching stuff on YouTube through my phone/stream to TV, but I often opt for streaming from my laptop to TV since the ad block works for that. It's ridiculous how many ads are present in YouTube videos, but even more annoying, the placement of ads in YouTube videos. The fact that ads can pop up in the middle of a sentence is ridiculous. Some things I watch on YouTube are actual episodes, press conferences/interviews or other things like that online. They have scheduled break moments, but even with that, you'll still have YouTube ads just playing in the middle of someone talking.

And don't get me started on trying to watch some 3 minute "DIY video" but forced to have a 15 second ad before the video and then another 15 second ad during the video when I'm just skipping ahead to see if this video is the right one I should follow.
