Since xbox 2 won't have a hard drive

Nothing is set as far as the XBox 2 not having a hard drive. If it doesn't, there is a rumor of it having a built in flash drive with about 1 GB of memory. You won'tbe able store an infinite number of MP3's on it, and it will probably alot harder to Mod, but like I said, these are just the RUMORS floating around........

I really do believe that they'll use the flash drive. Even if they don't i can't see a new console going BACKwards in the game features.

After seeing how the hard drive on the Xbox can customize one's gaming experience by allowing us to add our own music to games, I highly doubt that Microsoft would actually go BACKWARDS in development for Xbox2 and eliminate the hard drive. It is too useful. The public won't allow it. I can guarantee that Xbox2 units will be sold in significantly lower numbers than the first Xbox if they eliminate the hard drive. I for one will not buy one.

I think I've read XBox 2 will definitely have a mass storage device, ala the flash drive alluded to above, but whatever it is it will definitely be in a proprietary format. The reason it will not be a hard drive like this Xbox is that it makes it easy for people to swap out the drive in the system for a bigger hard drive and then pirate games like mad.

So that's fine by me if they want to use a proprietary flash drive or something similiar to it but I will be upset if there's no mass storage at all and find it hard to believe that they'd take such a huge backwards step. A few pirates really ruin it for alot of us!!
