Which 1 sold more?

Like many ppl, I'm mad at da fact dat EA sports made dat deal with da NFL. I waz just wonderin, which game has sold more this yr.....ESPN football 2k5 or Madden 2005?

I think Madden still sold out more, just not sure what the numbers are.

I'm fairly certain that Madden moved more units than ESPN. However, I've heard from a couple places that ESPN closed the sales margin significantly compared to last year's games.

From what I understand ESPN closed the gap in terms of number of games sold but because of the price difference Madden still blew them away in terms of revenue.

I've heard that ESPN sold 2 million and Madden sold 2.4 million. Don't quote me on that, but that's what I've read on another board. Also I've heard that ESPN sold more than Madden on Xbox. ESPN was gunned up for the next-gen consoles where they would be making a REAL profit when the price of the game goes back up. But the deal pretty much ripped that assumtion up to shreads.

Regardless of the final numbers, we know it was significantly better than the 5 million to 500,000 differential EA was used to.

Yet, next year, if the NFL deal hadn't gone down, and ESPN raised their price back up to $50 (which is and always was their plan...the $20 price point was supposed to be a one-year thing), Madden would be back up to 5mil to 500,000 again.
