NFL 2k5 in HD?

I heard someone at the IGN boards say they played NFL 2k5 in HD.

Any of you guys play 2k5 in HD? How do you set it up? Dont you need a HD adapter for like $20...

Im asking because my dad has HDTV in his home office.

Yes...it does play in HD...and you do need the Xbox High def cables for it...it is stunning in this mode.

Re: NFL 2k5 in HD?

Well...it actually isn't HD...the game runs at 480p which is enhanced definition. Only is a signal is 720p - 1080i/p is it considered true HD.

I agree that the game does look great in 480p.

Have you ever heard of 540p? My TV displays 540p and 1080i. I wonder what 540p is considered?

Re: NFL 2k5 in HD?

So you just use the cable and the game is automatically in HD? I heard you have to adjust the TV or XBOX settings is it complicated

Also can you actually tell the difference between regular and 480?

To me the game looks "stunning" as is.

The game does look amazing on 480P. You wouldn't have to adjust the TV, you would have to go into video in the xbox dashboard and enable 480P.

One thing I did is since I didn't initially have an HDTV (but I do now), I still wanted to enhance the graphics. I found a VGA adaptor online that will display any video game console in 480P/720P/1080i on my PC monitor and the results are great! Check it out:

www.vdigi.com as the official site, while this is a review:

I've been quite happy with it. You could even hook up an HDTV receiver and use it to watch HDTV on your monitor, or even progressive-scan DVD players work too.

Thumbs up Re: NFL 2k5 in HD?

If your TV supports 540p, it is upconverting the incoming Xbox signal (which is 480p) to the TV's native 540p display. Basically your display is altering the incoming signal to fit what the TV was designed to display. Some people like this, some people hate it. But if it looks great to you that's all that matters!

This man is correct!

The game isn't in "real" HD since it doesn't display in 720p or better (very few games do).
