Re: Fun With Names

K is absolutely correct. Great knowledge. The original Baltimore Colts were part of the AAFC merger, that had the original Browns join the NFL, but folded. The original Baltimore Colts' team colors were Green and White. Anyway, K, if you ever want to read a fantastic book on the history of pro football, locate AMERICA'S GAME by Michael MacCambridge, if you haven't done so already. Unbelievable book. I love football history...but I digress, sorry.

Re: Fun With Names

I disagree with those that say just cities with no nicknames and logos. I know a lot of people are split on this, but I think going the generic type of league with new nicknames and logo's, but with the option to change names and such is a better way to go.

They can still make the structure of the league be like the NFL, with the same cities, close color schemes and even nicknames that are somewhat close to the current ones, yet still have it be different enough that they don't get a lawsuit thrown at them.

I know I've said it in other threads, but I think Blitz showed how to do a quality new league with great team names and logo's/uniforms. You mix that kind of deapth to the fictional league with the quality real style football 2k is known for and I think it could be a great game.

Don't ya think?
Not at all. Don't include nicknames, Just give me city names with similar color schemes if possible.

I was thinking about Madden 64 when I wrote this. I was a bit younger, maybe 12 or so, but it took me so long to realize that the game wasn't liscensed. I loved it all the same, and it really didnt feel generic too me. Making up teams that have no history and logos I don't recognize is generic to me.
