Like I said, I was able to change the name of an existing player (in the default roster) to Demarcus Ware. I set his PBP name to "Matt Ware" and checked the box and the announcers just said "Ware" when he returned the opening kick off.

FunNgun was right.

I tried Matt and Kevin Ware and the announcers called him #94 everytime. Not really sure what's going on but I had to recreate the player twice just to get him to be called Ware.

ok... i figured it out... you cant have the last name .. highlighted red on the editor..

I made sure to add ware again so it wasnt highlighted... made him a kick returner as finn suggested and it worked !!! .... im currently working on a full revamp of this roster i have added 127/64 agression and i absolutely love it .. play on fast .. pass rush actually works much better.... using pujas base roster.

Jeff Jarrett??? Why is a wrestler in 2K5?

Some players like Tupe Peko, Tony Parrish, etc. are retired or no longer on an active team so what you could do is rename Tony Parrish into Roscoe Parrish in the config files but leave the four digit code as is. Sure, you'll still only hear Parrish but at least in the editor, it will look like his full name is there.
