Playbook Question.

Is there a playbook in the game similar to San diego on offense and a regular 4-3 on defense? I'm using the lions in my franchise and don't like their playbook so i want to switch it up.

I wanna run a ball control offense but also would like to have some formations where i can open it up and spread the field. Any Ideas?

Re: Playbook Question.

I am not sure about your question, But I know one of the other folks here can provide the answer.

I do believe that if there was a way to edit playbooks and remove all "broken" plays...you know...the ones that almost guarantee an interception or loss...then we will have cracked the last obstacle in making this game as realistic as possible.

Ratings have been tweaked to death and guys like puja, daflyboys, dan, jsou, etc have done a wonderful job in implementing new ratings on their roster sets in order to increase realism and believability in the gameplay.

But the one major input parameter left is the playbooks. If there was a way to really have an impact on editing the books and being able to use them in seasn and franchise mode, this would put the game over the top. Too many poorly designed plays have an affect on the game, whether it is because of a short 3 step drop by the QB who inevitably gets sacked immediately or throws a pick, or because a book has 80% pass plays and your RBs never get utilized (especially true if assigned to cpu team).

I do believe this change could have just as big an impact on gameplay as ratings tweaks have had.

Re: Playbook Question.

Thanks for the reply and i'm not trying to go in and manually change the playbooks i just wanted to know if there were any good playbooks already in the game for a balanced offense and a 4-3 defense.

i used san diego offense as an example because i am used to it but they run a 3-4 defense and i want to run a 4-3 defense. Sorry if im still being confusing.

Re: Playbook Question.

You are not being confusing. As I said in my first sentence in my post, I can't answer your question but others here undoubtedly can and will.

I then just went off on a tangent on my thoughts about playbooks in general.

Right now I'm in the process of playing games and taking notes on playbooks. Focusing on how the cpu plays with the playbook and not human controlled teams. I have found a few were the computer plays very well, regardless of their talent level. One is actually Detroit and the other is the Giants. Notable bad playbook is Tennessee, once I play about 5 games against a book I use my notes, and give each team the books that play best. I know duplicating books is something that some don't like but to me it is better than seeing horrible play calls, and a bad offense.
