I get teary eyed just thinking of how amazing the game would be. Gameplay even more polished than APF 2K8 (in fact, way more considering NFL 2K8 would of been far superior to APF 2K8 as the team would of still had football in mind for 2K6 and 2K7, and wouldn't of had to create a rush-job game like APF 2K8), the ESPN license explored to it's extreme, and graphics and animations that would make the Madden developers searching for new jobs.

When's our next shot, anyway. ESPN NFL 2K13?

Not quite sure about that. The original license was for 5 years, meaning 2K11 would have been possible, but I believe they may have renewed the contract, but i'm not really sure.

The Supreme Court will hear a case this year about NFL exclusivity contracts (it's about their clothing contracts). If the Court sides against the league, it really could give us a fighting chance of getting rid of EA's exclusive deal--as it would be seen as a violation of anti-trust. The case is designed to remove monopoly immunity from sports leagues. It will likely be a tight decision, too... Google American Needle v. New Orleans Saints, et al.
